Alden Richards named among 2025 Most Valuable Taxpayers

Director and actor Alden Richards was honored as the 2025 Most Valuable Taxpayer at the 2026 Tax Campaign Kick-off organized by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Held at the Jose Rizal Coliseum in Calamba, Laguna, the ceremony was live-streamed and uploaded by the GMA Sparkle Artist Center, featuring Alden's speech on the importance of civic responsibility.
"I’m deeply humbled and grateful to be recognized as one of your most valuable taxpayers of 2025. This award is not just a personal achievement but actually a reminder of our shared responsibility bilang mamamayan ng ating bansa (as citizens of our country)," Alden said.

Known for his passion for acting and outreach programs, Alden mentioned in his speech how his role as an actor can have a significant impact.
"As a public figure, I understand that influence comes with responsibility. I hope that through this recognition, more individuals, especially those in the private sector and the entertainment industry, will be encouraged to fulfill their tax obligations faithfully and transparently," he added.
At the end of his speech, Alden reminded the audience to be responsible taxpayers.
"Being a responsible taxpayer is something we should all take pride in. Dapat po nating ipagmalaki ang pagiging taxpayer. Paalala ko lamang po, magbayad tayo ng tamang buwis; at higit sa lahat, magbayad tayo sa tamang oras (Being a responsible taxpayer is something we should all take pride in. We should all take pride in being taxpayers. Just a reminder, let's pay the right taxes, and most of all, let's pay on time)," Alden said.
In past years, the Bureau of Internal Revenue has likewise honored notable Filipino entertainers for outstanding tax compliance, including Vice Ganda, Kim Chiu, Kathryn Bernardo, and Daniel Padilla.
