IT'S THE SMALL THINGS
It is hard to believe that today is the last day of the month. This month, I did something I have never done before and that is to list down a learning, a thought, or something I was grateful for every single day. Reading back at it today reminds me of what some days were like, and that — substantial, or shallow — there is definitely something we can take with us every single day. Allow me to share my daily February thoughts with you:
1. We now have 334 chances left to meet our goals, and make this the best year ever.
2. Birthdays, Chinese New Year, Valentine’s — February has become a festive month.
3. Two years ago, I was eight days’ shy of being a mother, aka, my life changing forever.
4. I am grateful to family and friends who host, and open up their homes — it takes time, effort, and it is an honor to be allowed into ones most private space.
5. Working with like-minded (and like-hearted) people really makes life infinitely easier.
6. When your day is all planned out, sometimes a cancelled meeting or two is a luxury – more time to spend with my baby, family, to do errands, or at home.
7. The wonder in a child’s eyes, and the smile on his face is the greatest, and most heartwarming compliment ever.
8. Reconnecting with old acquaintances can sometimes reveal more similarities than you had once thought. Indeed, people change through time.
9. Slow Mondays — an underrated luxury.
10. Time is precious. Time is gold.
11. Motherhood is the most nerve-wracking, anxiety inducing, but also most instinctive and fulfilling job in the world.
12. The most generous, and kindest souls are those who you least expect to be.
13. Consistency is truly key. Fifteen Valentine’s Days later, the roses are still red, but really, what matters most is the thoughtfulness and the show of love on this Hallmark holiday.
14. The hearts get less on Valentine’s Day as you grow older, but the love of, and toward those who matter most get fonder.
15. Relish in the slow Sundays and the slow, late, mornings.
16. Always go back to your roots; re-visit your why and your purpose as it will always reveal, and remind you of the true meaning.
17. A holiday in the middle of the week is another underrated luxury, and an opportunity to re-charge.
18. Lent has begun!
19. There is truly something uplifting about weddings and celebrations of love.
20. Show up for your true friends. Presence is the greatest present.
21. Set realistic goals, and put the work in.
22. Last Sunday of the month. What?
23. Sending love, hugs and warmth to all my friends in the middle of the blizzard in frigid New York.
24. They weren’t joking when they said two-year olds have big feelings and great emotions.
25. “Aking adhika makita kang sakdal laya” ng korapsyon, kasakiman at kahirapan.
26. It’s time to raise more funds! For the Filipino children, we will do what we can.
27. It is easy to make time for those you love. Always.
28. It is definitely the season of weddings! And tomorrow, is the first day of the last month of the first quarter of 2026.
