BAGUIO CITY – The grand street dancing competition of the 30th Panagbenga Festival with the theme Blooming Without End was held here on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Eight contingents competed – Lamut Harvest Festival Dance of Ifugao; Pagibang Damara Festival of San Jose, Nueva Ecija; Tribu Balitok a Pagey of Malasique, Pangasinan; Tribu Bagtas, Alisto SDO of Santo Domingo, Ilocos Sur; Tribu Bannuar Ilocandia of Balaoan, La Union; Tribu Eulogiano-Baggak Festival of Bauang, La Union; Tribu Kanluran Jones-PiniUsa Festival of Jones, Isabela, and Tribu Siglat-Tinungbo Festival of Pugo, La Union.
A woman of short stature from the Tribu Siglat-Tinungbo Festival wowed the crowd with her energetic performance during the event.
The Tuba Central School Drum and Lyre Corps, Pugo Central School, El Tribu D’Lucban Elementary School, Baguio Central School, Lucban Elementary School, Puguis Elementary School, and Mabini Elementary School on Saturday resumed their performance in the elementary drum and lyre street dancing competition on Feb. 1.
They will once again showcase their skills in the finale at the Melvin Jones Football Grounds in Burnham Park here this weekend.
