Marcos proclaims special non-working days in select areas in March

President Marcos has proclaimed several special non-working days in select areas across the country this March.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, in a Facebook post on Feb. 28, said the President issued the proclamations to allow residents to properly commemorate local founding anniversaries, festivals, and a special election.
Among those declared as special non-working days are March 6 in the Municipality of Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte, for its 47th Araw ng Gutalac under Proclamation No. 1170, and in the Municipality of Tadian, Mountain Province, for the Ayyoweng Di Lambak Ed Tadian Festival under Proclamation No. 1171.
March 10 was also declared a special non-working day in the City of Tanauan, Batangas, for its 25th Cityhood Anniversary under Proclamation No. 1164, and in the Municipality of Norala, South Cotabato, for its founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1165.
On March 13, the Municipality of Bauko, Mountain Province, will observe the Begnas di Bauko Festival under Proclamation No. 1166.
March 14 was declared a special non-working day in the City of Passi, Iloilo, for its founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1172, and in the 2nd Legislative District of the City of Antipolo for a special election under Proclamation No. 1173.
On March 16, special non-working days were declared in the Municipality of Aguilar, Pangasinan, for the Ansakket Festival under Proclamation No. 1168; in the City of Davao for the 89th Araw ng Davao under Proclamation No. 1174; and in the Municipality of Lugait, Misamis Oriental, for its founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1175.
March 17 was declared a special non-working day in the Municipality of Tayug, Pangasinan, for its founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1176.
On March 18, the Province of Masbate will mark its 125th founding anniversary under Proclamation No. 1167.
Meanwhile, March 19 was declared a special non-working day in the Municipality of Kawayan, Biliran, for its charter anniversary under Proclamation No. 1177, and in the City of Canlaon, Negros Oriental, for the Pasayaw Festival 2026 under Proclamation No. 1178.
Finally, March 24 was declared a special non-working day in the City of Tabaco, Albay, for its Charter Day and 25th Cityhood Founding Anniversary under Proclamation No. 1179.
Under existing guidelines, special non-working days allow employees in the affected areas to observe local celebrations, subject to applicable pay rules under labor regulations.
