The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has started monitoring the situation of Filipinos in Israel after Iran launched several missiles in retaliation to the earlier air strike by the United States and Israeli forces.
In a statement released on Saturday night, Feb. 28, the DMW advised Filipinos in Israel to strictly follow the safety advisory of the Philippine Embassy in relation to the security situation in the Middle East.
“The DMW monitors the situation through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Israel together with the (Philippine) Embassy and continuously provides timely advice for the safety of our kababayan,” the statement read.
The DMW also advised Filipinos in Israel to monitor the advisories from the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command for the safety guidelines, identify the nearest bomb shelters in their respective areas, and be mindful of the urgent alert via app, text or siren.
Filipinos in Israel were also advised to refrain from going to the areas with potential threat.
The DMW also urged Filipinos to contact the following emergency hotlines: Embassy 24/7 Emergency Hotline: +972 54 466 1188
“The DMW is continuously coordinating with the Embassy to ensure the safety and welfare of our kababayan. We urge everybody to remain calm, but always ready,” the DMW said.
