Domestic travelers have kept Calabarzon as the country’s most visited region for 16 straight years, the Department of Tourism (DOT) reported on Saturday, Feb. 28.
A sectoral review by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), using data from DOT and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), highlighted the region’s sustained appeal.
The study showed that Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) welcomed a total of 77.5 million domestic visitors from 2008 to 2024.
In 2024 alone, the region recorded 10,863,098 overnight travelers.
Of the figure, a total of 10,680,294 were local tourists, while 182,804 were foreign visitors.
The region’s popularity is fueled by its rich variety of attractions.
Cavite draws visitors with its historic landmarks, Laguna with its iconic churches, and Batangas with world-class dive spots.
Rizal’s scenic rock formations and Quezon’s lively festivals have further solidified Calabarzon as a top choice for families, adventure seekers, and culture enthusiasts alike.
