BLACKPINK's 'Deadline' sets new record for highest first-day album sales among K-pop girl groups
BLACKPINK broke the record for the highest first-day sales for a K-pop girl group with their third mini-album “Deadline.”
Based on data from Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Deadline” sold 1,461,785 copies on the first day of release on Feb. 27 to top the daily album sales chart.
With this, BLACKPINK not only broke their own record but set the highest first-day album sales for a K-pop girl group in history.
Their previous album, “Born Pink,” released in 2022, sold 1.01 million copies on the first day of release and recorded 1.54 million copies in sales in the first week of release.
In addition, “Deadline” also topped iTunes album charts in 32 regions.
The music video for the main track, “Go,” has garnered 23 million views on YouTube as of this writing since its release on Feb. 27.
BLACKPINK recently reached 100 million subscribers on YouTube, becoming the first artist worldwide to achieve the feat.
