Honda opens books for new sports coupe

The highly anticipated Honda Prelude sports coupe is now available for pre-order starting today, February 27, 2026. After being discontinued in other markets in 2001, the Honda Prelude finally returns as an electrified sports coupe.

Though never officially offered in the Philippines before, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) views the model as a bridge between nostalgic, well-loved heritage and new technology that is tailored for today’s market.

The Prelude’s futuristic looks are owed to the ‘Unlimited Glide’ design concept. It is engineered to provide a comfortable experience for endless drives. Its low vehicle height, light proportions, and clean visibility make it ideal for long, energetic drives. Several suspension components derived from the Civic Type R deliver a balance of comfort and precise handling that makes it a capable and refined touring car.

Even if it is a sports coupe, the Prelude is not limited to being a ‘weekender’. It is built to be a daily driver. It offers ample cargo space and a comfortable cabin enough for groceries, two golf bags, and even two surfboards. Equipped with Honda’s e:HEV full hybrid system, it ensures efficiency, capable of returning a combined fuel economy performance rating of 25.6 km/LGe (based on DOE certification).

A new technology making its debut on the Prelude is the S+ Shift technology. While paddles on Honda’s hybrid models traditionally allow drivers to select between levels of regenerative braking, activating the S+ Shift gives the driver the ability to shift gears virtually. It produces visual, audio, and tactile signals such as meter display changes, virtual engine sounds, and seat vibrations to create a more engaging driving experience.

The Honda Prelude will be available in the following colors: Moonlit White Pearl (new and exclusive to the Prelude), Rallye Red, Racing Blue Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl. The Honda Prelude will be available in one variant, the 2.0 e:HEV E-CVT.
