Gotianun heir takes helm of Filinvest's unified hospitality arm

Filinvest Development Corp. consolidated its leisure and lifestyle businesses under its hospitality arm and named a third-generation family member to lead the unit as part of a strategy to scale its integrated tourism offerings.
The holding company for the Gotianun family’s interests appointed Francis Gotianun as chief executive officer of Filinvest Hospitality. He oversees the expanded portfolio, which now includes the group’s dining collection, golf courses, and active lifestyle brands.
“We did this move of combining our hospitality businesses under one umbrella so that we can ensure that we have greater focus and greater momentum moving forward,” said Gotianun during the media launch of the beefed-up Filinvest Hospitality.
The reorganization brings assets such as the Mimosa Plus Golf Course in Clark, Aum Spa, and the Timberland Mountain Bike Park in San Mateo under a single management structure.
Filinvest Hospitality is positioning itself as a curator of leisure and wellness experiences rather than a traditional hotel operator. The move aims to streamline operations as the company seeks to capture a larger share of the domestic and regional tourism markets.
Gotianun noted that the company’s five-year goal focuses on improving service delivery and guest satisfaction across its diversifying product lines.
The company also bolstered its executive ranks to support the new CEO. James Montenegro was named president and chief operating officer, while Ria Sarrosa was appointed first vice president for hotel and restaurant operations. The leadership team will manage the company's existing brands, which include the Crimson Hotels & Resorts, Quest Hotels & Resorts, and the Grafik Hotel Collection.
While the group is expanding into active leisure, its culinary division remains a primary driver of brand prestige. The dining portfolio includes Michelin-recognized Enye by Chele Gonzalez and Aka by Naoki Eguchi.
Other properties under its management, such as the Mosaic Latin Grill, recently received international accolades at the Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence 2026. The group is also scaling homegrown concepts like Baker J and Firehouse Pizza to complement its resort and hotel destinations.
The consolidation reflects a broader trend among Philippine conglomerates to professionalize family-led units while integrating lifestyle components to maximize land use and recurring revenue. Filinvest continues to scout for new opportunities in key business and leisure hubs as it builds out its pipeline of destination experiences in the country.
