Barangay Ginebra has shore up its frontline, acquiring Kemark Cariño from Terrafirma in exchange of Ben Adamos, the PBA trade committee approved the deal on Friday, Feb. 27.
With the move, the Kings are adding another big man to reinforce a frontline of Japeth Aguilar and the returning Isaac Go in the upcoming PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup.
Cariño’s addition couldn’t have happened at a better time, especially with Ginebra facing the dilemma of finding the manpower to match up with towering imports the other teams tapped for the mid-season conference.
The 6-foot-8 center, however, wouldn’t be available for Ginebra at least until April as he continues to recover from an ACL injury.
Adamos, on the other hand, is getting a chance for a restart on his PBA career after being flanked on the far end of the Ginebra bench.
The 6-foot-6 big man should give Terrafirma an immediate boost inside the paint, joining fellow former Kings Aljon Mariano and Maverick Ahanmisi with the Dyip.
