A six-year-old boy was killed after he was run over by a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) while driving his bicycle in Barangay Mambabanga, Luna, Isabela, on Wednesday night, Feb. 25.
Police Major Jonathan Ramos, chief of the Luna police station, identified the victim as Angel.
Ramos said the victim suddenly crossed the road and the SUV, driven by a 73-year-old man from San Mateo, Isabela, failed to bake on time and hit him.
Police said the child had just left a wake and was reportedly about to play when the accident happened.
The driver and the victim’s family have reached a settlement.
Police reminded parents to monitor and guide their children closely, especially at night, to help prevent similar tragedies.
