Security guard dies after crashing his motorcycle into a tree in Mandaluyong City

A 29-year-old security guard was killed after the motorcycle he was riding on crashed into a huge tree at the center island of Ortigas Avenue in Barangay Wack-Wack Greenhills East early Thursday morning, Feb. 26.

According to the victim's wife, her husband told her that he was going to attend the birthday party of his co-worker after work before the accident occurred.

Barangay officials said some motorists notified them about the crash at around 2 a.m., prompting them to quickly respond to the scene. Barangay workers confirmed the victim died on the spot.

Witnesses said the victim was overspeeding before hitting the tree.

The police are still investigating the incident.
