University of Perpetual Help System Dalta looks to avenge its first-round loss against College of St. Benilde for a solo lead in the NCAA Season 101 men’s volleyball tournament at the San Andres Gym in Malate, Manila Friday, Feb. 27.
Armed with all the momentum from a seven-game streak, the Altas are expected to pour it all into their 9 a.m. encounter against the Blazers, who handed them an opening game loss.
Meanwhile, Group B squads in EAC and Letran, which both aim for a quarters bonus, clash at 5 p.m..
Perpetual, which had a measly 0-2 start, eyes a sweet revenge against Benilde to clinch its eighth consecutive triumph as well as to strengthen its lead in overall standings, particularly in Group A, which could give them a twice-to-beat advantage come the knockout round.
"Our main target now is to bounce back against Benilde and also to strengthen our position in the next round, We have 4 remaining games, we are aiming to sustain it going to QF,” said Perpetual head coach Macky Carino.
Meanwhile, chief tactician Sandy Rieta and the Lady Altas try to keep the top position in Group A and also strike back at reigning champion CSB Lady Blazers at 12 noon.
It can be remembered that Cyrille Almeniana dropped a 27-point bomb to steer the Lady Altas to a 25-21, 18-25, 25-23, 17-25, 16-14 win over the six-peat seeking Lady Blazers in the first round.
