Shang Properties received the “Recognition of Excellence in Sustainability” during ECC International and APEX Global's Client Appreciation Night held at Makati Shangri-La, Manila. The plaque cites Shang Properties “in recognition of [its] steadfast commitment to responsible, sustainable practices and forward-looking disclosures that drive lasting impact,” reflecting a shared purpose to build a more resilient and sustainable future.
According to ECC International, the recognition highlights Shang Properties’ performance across environmental stewardship, resource efficiency, inclusive growth, and workplace safety in 2024 and early 2025, aligned with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Advancing Environmental Stewardship
In early 2025, Shang Properties strengthened its environmental programs through a mangrove planting initiative along Cebu’s South Road Properties coastline, resulting in the planting of more than 4,000 mangroves to support coastal resilience and biodiversity.
In 2024, the company achieved significant electricity savings through energy efficiency measures across its developments. It also reinforced its environmental initiatives through sustained recycling efforts involving solid waste and wastewater, underscoring its commitment to responsible resource management and circular economy practices. These efforts support SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
Driving Inclusive Growth
Shang Properties generated meaningful employment opportunities in 2024, contributing to stable livelihoods and sustained organizational growth. The company also supported national development through its tax contributions and investments in community initiatives, reflecting its commitment to inclusive growth and responsible corporate citizenship. These efforts align with SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).
Fostering a Safe and Inclusive Workplace
Workplace health, safety, and employee development remained priorities throughout the year. Shang Properties maintained strong safety standards across its operations and invested in training programs to enhance employee competencies and professional development.
The company also upheld strict labor and governance standards, and these initiatives support SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
The recognition affirms Shang Properties’ structured approach to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. By embedding sustainability into its operations and aligning initiatives with global standards, the company continues to advance responsible real estate development in the Philippines—balancing growth with environmental stewardship, economic contribution, and social responsibility.
