A total of P80.15 million in sales leads was generated by Philippine dive destinations at the 2026 Paris Dive Show, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said the figure represents a 43-percent increase from last year’s P56 million.
World-renowned sites such as Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park, Bohol, Anilao, Cebu, Puerto Galera, Dumaguete, Ticao Island, and Southern Leyte drew strong attention during the four-day event at Parc des Expositions in Paris.
The 90-square-meter Philippine Pavilion showcased 12 DOT-accredited dive establishments, highlighting the country’s rich marine biodiversity and sustainable tourism programs.
Southern Leyte’s Sogod Bay Dive Sites was featured as the Pavilion’s highlight destination.
Internationally acclaimed underwater photographer Laurent Ballesta presented rare deep-sea images from Tubbataha captured at depths of up to 150 meters.
He also shared findings from his Gombessa Expeditions mission, which documented previously unseen marine species and produced pioneering scientific data.
His award-winning Pangatalan Island series showcased reef recovery and ecosystem resilience, reinforcing the Philippines’ commitment to sustainable tourism and protection of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Participating Philippine companies included Seadoors Liveaboard, Sea Explorers, Solitude Acacia Resort, Ticao Island Resort, Blue Lagoon Dive Resort, El Galleon Resort/Asia Divers, M/Y Resolute, Thalatta Resort, Casalay Boutique Villas and Dive Resort, Atmosphere Resorts & Spa, Magic Resorts Philippines, Abyssworld Philippines, Inc., Peter’s Dive Resort, and Sogod Bay Scuba Resort.
The Philippines’ seventh consecutive title as the World’s Leading Dive Destination at the 2025 World Travel Awards further cemented its global recognition, surpassing 12 international contenders.
