Ai-Ai delas Alas on finding love again: 'Okay na ako mag isa'

Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas shared that she’s taking a two-year break from getting into another romantic relationship.

“Nandoon pa ako sa healing process, and meron pa akong ni-reboot sa pagkatao ko. So I think doon pa lang ako magiging ready, two years from now, maybe 2028 (I’m still in the healing process, and there are still parts of myself I’m rebooting. So I think I’ll only be ready there, two years from now, maybe 2028),” Ai-Ai revealed during her interview on "TicTalk with Aster Amoyo."

The actress admitted that, because of self-love, she might not jump into a relationship anytime soon.

“Ayokong magsalita ng tapos kasi baka may magbukas. Hindi ko rin naman sinasara ‘yung option na ‘yon. But as of ngayon, okay ako na mag isa (I don’t want to talk about it yet because someone might open it up. I’m also not closing that option. But as of now, I’m okay being on my own),” she added.

After her separation from her ex-husband Gerald Sibayan, Ai-Ai warmly emphasized that she’s looking for someone more mature this time around.

“Siguro nga mas mature sa kanya, mga 50s ganyan. Pero sa experience ko kasi, hindi naman natin lahat na-experience ‘to. Age matters (Maybe someone more mature than him, like in their 50s or so. But from my experience, not all of us experience this. Age matters),” she said.

Having been in a 10-year relationship with Gerald, Ai-Ai graciously noted that she has no regrets.

“Kasi yung mga ginagawa ko naman sa buhay ko, wala namang pumilit sa akin doon eh. Ginawa ko yun with all my heart (Because the things I do in my life, no one forced me to do them. I did them with all my heart),” she added.

Focusing on her work, Ai-Ai emphasized that it’s time for everyone to let her ex-husband live his own life.

“Hayaan na natin siya kasi I think may sarili na siyang buhay. It’s a close book, close chapter ng buhay ko kasi I think may iba na siyang buhay (Let’s just leave him alone because I think he has his own life now. It’s a closed book, a closed chapter in my life because I think he has a different life now),” she said.

Sharing her exciting plans for the coming years, Ai-Ai revealed the places she wants to visit next.

“Plano ko na mag work pa rin, super work. And then, plano kong pumunta sa mga bansang gusto ko. Sa Lourdes yung green light, Aurora keme. Again, gusto kong pumunta sa Japan kasi may Hello Kitty Land doon na hindi ko pa napuntahan. (I plan to keep working really hard. And then I plan to go to the countries I want to visit. Like, Lourdes, where there’s the green light, Aurora something. Again, I want to go to Japan because there’s Hello Kitty Land there that I haven’t been to yet),” Ai-Ai added.
