AFP, US forces hold first-ever highway landing exercise in PH

LAOAC, Pangasinan – The Armed Forces of the Philippines and United States Special Operations Forces conducted the first-ever Alternate Landing Zone (ALZ)-Highway Landing Operation in the country here on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
The exercise that aims to train AFP personnel for aircraft landings on highways featured a US C-146 aircraft. The Philippines was the second country in Asia to host such joint operation with US forces.
It enhanced their readiness for humanitarian assistance and disaster response, emergency scenarios, and national defense missions.
Defense Secretary Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr. said that the exercise tested the capabilities and interoperability of joint forces and improved the skills of PAF combat controllers.
