Road closures, rerouting set in Manila starting midnight Feb. 25

Several major roads in Manila will be temporarily closed beginning 12 a.m. on Feb. 25, with rerouting schemes to be implemented, according to the Manila Police District (MPD).
In a traffic advisory, authorities said the closures will affect key areas including Ayala Bridge, Liwasang Bonifacio, and the Mendiola vicinity, prompting motorists to take alternate routes.

Rerouting schemes
Ayala Bridge
Motorists coming from Romualdez Street bound for Ayala Bridge are advised to turn left to Ayala Boulevard, then right to Taft Avenue, or proceed to N. Lopez Street, turn right to A. Villegas Street, then left to C. Muñoz Street toward their destinations.
Vehicles from San Marcelino Street may turn right to Ayala Boulevard then right to Taft Avenue, or continue straight and turn left to United Nations Avenue.
Those from Ayala Boulevard eastbound lane should turn right to San Marcelino Street, while motorists from C. Palanca Street should turn left to P. Casal Street. Vehicles from P. Casal Street are advised to turn right to C. Palanca Street.
Liwasang Bonifacio
Vehicles from P. Burgos Avenue northbound intending to pass Magallanes Drive should proceed to Jones Bridge. Motorists from C. Muñoz Street may use P. Burgos Avenue, while vehicles from McArthur Bridge should continue to P. Burgos Avenue southbound or turn right to Victoria Street.
CRB Mendiola
Vehicles from Quezon Boulevard and C.M. Recto Avenue heading to Mendiola Street must turn left to N. Reyes Street.
Motorists from the Sta. Mesa area via Legarda Street should turn right to Figueras Street, proceed to Earnshaw Street, then turn left to S.H. Loyola Street.
Meanwhile, vehicles from P. Casal Street bound for Mendiola should turn left to San Rafael Street, continue to Bilibid Viejo Street, then turn right to S.H. Loyola Street or N. Reyes Street.
The MPD advised motorists to expect heavy traffic in affected areas and to follow traffic signs and personnel deployed on site.
