CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon) remembered Brig. Gen. Vicente Podico Lim who this camp was named after on his 138th birth anniversary on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
The event was graced by guest of honor and speaker Dr. Maria Cristina Lim-Yuson, granddaughter of Lim. Yuson highlighted his invaluable contributions to the nation in her message.
Also in attendance was Calamba City, Rizal Mayor Roseller H. Rizal; Matt Palentinos, chief of staff, Calamba City Rep. Charisse Anne C. Hernandez; PRO 4-A police chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas, and other members of the Lim family.
The commemoration was highlighted by a wreath-laying ceremony at Lim’s monument.
Rizal expressed deep respect and admiration for Lim.
A 21-gun salute, one of the highest military honors, was rendered in recognition of Lim’s unwavering courage, patriotism, and steadfast service during the country’s struggle for independence.
Lucas said that the ceremony served as a meaningful reminder of Lim’s enduring legacy of bravery, leadership, and selfless service to the Filipino people.
