Boracay White Beach joins Asia's elite top 10 beaches

The White Beach on Boracay Island in Panay landed at No. 6 in Tripadvisor’s Best of the Best Beaches in Asia for 2026, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said Tuesday, Feb. 24.
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco said the recognition highlights Boracay’s global appeal and the livelihoods supported by tourism on the island.
“Behind every award are thousands of Filipino workers—our boatmen, hotel staff, tour guides, transport operators, and micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs—whose lives depend on a thriving and sustainable tourism industry,” Frasco said.
The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title is given to destinations that receive a high volume of outstanding reviews and ratings from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.
This distinction places the winners among the top one percent of listings worldwide, the DOT said.
Known for its powdery white sand and vibrant coastal scene, White Beach remains Boracay’s most iconic stretch.
Tripadvisor described it as a beach that “draws a crowd for good reasons: soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets. It's a great place to swim and snorkel, and when you've worked up an appetite, lots of local dining and drinking joints are just steps away.”
Stretching about four kilometers along Boracay’s western coast, White Beach is divided into Stations 1, 2, and 3, catering to luxury travelers, families, and backpackers alike.
The beach continues to serve as the centerpiece of Boracay’s tourism economy, drawing visitors for swimming, snorkeling, island-hopping, and other water activities.
