A total of 225 individuals were arrested during a weeklong anti-criminality and anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) from Feb. 15 to 21.
Authorities carried out 50 anti-illegal drugs operations that led to the arrest of 73 suspects and the confiscation of illegal drugs worth P841,249.20.
Police also intensified efforts against wanted persons, resulting in the arrest of 71 individuals, including 18 most-wanted and 53 other wanted personalities.
Seven anti-illegal firearms operations were conducted, leading to the arrest of seven suspects and the recovery of seven firearms in violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Meanwhile, 36 anti-gambling operations resulted in the arrest of 74 individuals and the seizure of P27,806 in bet money for violations of the Illegal Gambling Law.
Among the arrests during the campaign was alias “Mark,” who was apprehended by Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station 13 on a robbery charge after allegedly evading authorities for 12 years.
Fairview Police Station 5 also arrested alias “Leandro,” who had been at large for seven years in connection with a rape case.
Alias “Richard,” listed as the No. 7 most wanted person of Masambong Police Station 2, was arrested for violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act after six years of evading arrest.
In a separate operation, Holy Spirit Police Station 14 arrested alias “Renato” for violation of the Anti-Electricity and Electric Transmission Lines Materials Pilferage Act of 1994, also after six years of eluding authorities.
All arrests were reported to the respective courts, and charges have been filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, including violations of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, RA 10591, and PD 1602.
