McDonald's PH launches Chinese zodiac collectibles and Golden McFloat for Year of the Fire Horse

Limited-time Lunar New Year drop features 12 character figures, 13 interchangeable shells and a Sprite-based float in peach and pear flavors

McDonald’s Philippines marks the Year of the Fire Horse with a limited-time release of Chinese zodiac-inspired collectibles and a new seasonal drink, the Golden McFloat.
The campaign introduces 12 zodiac-themed figures featuring the brand’s characters Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdie, each reimagined as animals from the Chinese zodiac. Every figure comes encased in a detachable zodiac animal shell adorned with a colored gem. The shells are interchangeable across the collection.
In total, there are 13 interchangeable zodiac animal shells, including a bonus golden horse shell created to commemorate the Year of the Fire Horse. Collectors can mix and match characters and cases.
“This Chinese New Year, we wanted to offer a special experience that pays homage to culture and festive celebrations through our very own Zodiac collectibles and the NEW Golden McFloat. It’s all about food, fun, and fortune this season, and we encourage everyone to join and enjoy this experience in our stores,” said Ada Almendras-Lazaro, chief marketing officer of McDonald’s Philippines.
The collectibles are available through a limited-time “lucky combo.” Customers can add P168 to any McDonald’s meal to receive one collectible and upgrade their drink to the new Golden McFloat.
The Golden McFloat is a Sprite-based beverage with peach and pear flavors, topped with vanilla soft serve. It is available for a limited time during the Lunar New Year season.
Beyond the combo offering, the celebration extends to McDo App-exclusive deals, in-store fortune card readings and on-ground activations across select locations.
“We’re creating feel-good moments where customers can celebrate luck the McDonald’s way, from collecting our McDonald’s Zodiac collectibles and enjoying the NEW limited-time Golden McFloat, to experiencing fun in-store fortune card readings. We want every visit to feel exciting and positive, whether they’re discovering their fortune through the McDonald’s App, scoring exclusive deals, or even joining our festive on-ground activations,” Almendras-Lazaro said.
Founded in 1981 by master franchise holder Dr. George T. Yang, McDonald’s Philippines has grown to close to 800 stores nationwide. The company supports Ronald McDonald House Charities Philippines as its charity of choice.
