Farmer stabbed to death by uncle over illegal power connection
TACLOBAN CITY – A 59-year-old farmer was allegedly stabbed to death by his uncle after he was accused of disconnecting an illegal electricity connection in Barangay Inuntan, Basey, Samar on Sunday, Feb. 22.
Initial investigation by the Basey Municipal Police Station (MPS) revealed that victim Geo and suspect Senio, 73, were having a drinking session with other family members at Geo's residence when Senio accused Geo of disconnecting her sister’s electrical connection.
A heated argument erupted where Senio grabbed a knife and stabbed Geo multiple times. The victim was declared dead on arrival in a hospital in Basey.
Police apprehended Senio, who is now in the custody of Basey MPS for proper disposition.
It was later discovered that Rosy had been illegally tapping electricity from Geo's line.
