ILLEGAL mufflers seized in Central Luzon.
The Police Regional Office-3 said on Monday that more than 3,000 illegal mufflers confiscated in Central Luzon are set for destruction.
They also announced that over 4,000 loose firearms have been recovered through sustained law enforcement operations in the region.
These firearms once posed serious threats to public safety but are now properly secured, PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr. assured.
Peñones said that from June 19, 2025 to Feb. 22, 2026, 5,227 modified and illegal mufflers have been destroyed by various operating units through inter-agency cooperation.
He said that 3,005 confiscated mufflers were presented for disposal as part of ongoing efforts to curb noise pollution and road safety violations during the joint meeting of the Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee-3 and the Joint Anti-Bank Robbery and Cybercrime Coordinating Committee-3 at the PRO-3 Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Olivas, San Fernando City, Pampanga.
Peñones said these accomplishments are aligned with the focused agenda of Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. promoting law enforcement efficiency, integrity, and accountability.
