JoJaJu tops Lantern Dance tilt at 21st Bacolaodiat Festival
BACOLOD CITY – JoJaJu topped the Lantern Dance competition at the 21st Bacolaodiat Festival here on Sunday, Feb. 22.
They received P100,000 cash prize and a trophy from Bacolaodiat Festival Inc. officials headed by chairman John Stephen Sy and Councilor Em Ang, who represented Mayor Greg Gasataya.
They also bagged the Best in Costume award and an additional P20,000 and trophy. Jojaju was first runner-up and Best in Costume last year. They last won the championship in 2024.
The two other finalists—The Luminaries and Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU)-Alijis Campus—received a consolation prize of P30,000 eac.
The Luminaries bagged the Best in Lantern award and earned P20,000 and a trophy.
All three groups were top finishers in the 20th Bacolaodiat festival last year.
