BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan – Three people were killed in a collision between a motorcycle and van in Barangay Buayaen here on Saturday Feb.21.
Police said a motorcycle with sidecar was rear-ended by a speeding van driven by a 36-year-old man allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
The motorcycle rammed a concrete electric post and a residential fence.
The motorcycle driver, his 21-year-old back rider, and the van driver were taken to a hospital here where they were declared dead. Both vehicles were badly damaged.
Police urged people to observe traffic rules to avoid accidents.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Coast Guard recovered the body of an eight-year-old boy who drowned on the Amburayan River in Barangay Quintarong, Bangar, La Union on Saturday.
Authorities reminded parents and guardians to closely monitor children near rivers and other bodies of water.
