PH-US military interoperability in provinces receive big boost
Filipino delegation first to take part in workshop in Space Force installation
AN Air Force delegation – Lt. Col. Floreto Solano, Col. Mikee Romero, Col. Bum Basco, and Lt. Col. Paulino Antonio T. Lomoljo – hopes to benefit from a historic public affairs workshop hosted by the United States Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) in Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado, United States.
The alliance and growing interoperability between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the United States military in the provinces received a big boost through a five-day public affairs workshop that started last Feb. 16.
Former Deputy Speaker and Philippine Air Force Reserve (PAFR) Col. Michael “Mikee” Romero, commander of the 2nd Air Force Wing Reserve, said the event at the United States Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) at Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado, was timely and insightful as it gave both parties a perfect platform to exchange best practices in public affairs, strategic communication, media engagement, and crisis communication.
It likewise strengthened institutional capabilities, enhanced mutual understanding, and reinforced cooperation between allied reserve forces.
The United States Air Force Reserve Command warmly welcomed the delegation, which made history as the first to take part in an official professional workshop held within a United States Space Force installation.
The bilateral workshop and the PAF participation were made possible through the leadership of PAF Commanding General Lt. Gen. Arthur M. Cordura, in coordination with his United States Air Force counterparts.
Other members of the PAF delegation were Col. Maria Christina O. Basco, chief of the Air Force Public Affairs Office; Lt. Col. Paulino Antonio T. Lomoljo, commanding officer of the 8th Air Force Reserve Center; Lt. Col. Floreto I. Solano, officer-in-charge of the 3rd Air Force Wing Reserve; Lt. Col. Joseph Bitangcur, Director for Public Affairs under the Office of the Assistant Chief of Air Staff for Civil-Military Operations, A-7; and Sgt Kenneth A. Madali.
