Motorists are advised to take alternate routes and expect heavy traffic near the EDSA People Power Monument on Wednesday, Feb. 25, due to the “Trillion Peso March 3.”
Traffic congestion is expected starting at 8 a.m. along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), Katipunan Avenue, Ortigas Avenue, White Plains Avenue, and Temple Drive.
White Plains Avenue will be temporarily closed starting 6 a.m. on the day of the rally.
A zipper lane will also be implemented along White Plains Avenue between EDSA and Katipunan Avenue from 9 p.m. on Feb. 24 until 6 a.m. on Feb. 25.
The rally is being organized by Caritas Philippines and several civil society groups.
Authorities identified the following parking areas for participants:
• Temple Drive up to Giraffe Street (light vehicles)
• Bonny Serrano Avenue eastbound (one-side bus parking)
• 18th Avenue and 20th Avenue (bus and light vehicles)
• Along EDSA from the People Power Monument up to GHQ Gate 3 (friendly forces parking)
Personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department, Department of Public Order and Safety, Task Force Disiplina, Quezon City Police District, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will be deployed to manage traffic flow.
Authorities urged drivers to plan their trips ahead and allot extra travel time.
