Man stabs father to death in Ilocos Sur

A 29-year-old man allegedly suffering from mental illness stabbed his father to death inside their house in Barangay San Vicente, Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur on Thursday night, Feb. 19.
Police identified the victim as Joe, 59.
Investigation said the victim reminded the suspect Mon to drink his medicine.
The suspect grabbed a 32-centimeter kitchen knife from their kitchen and stabbed the victim once in the abdomen while he was sleeping.
Joe was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
The incident was reported to the police Friday and the suspect voluntarily surrendered.
Mon is under police custody and will undergo medical checkup and treatment.
