Police arrested a 47-year-old man listed as the No. 4 most wanted person (station level) by the Makati City Police in Pasay on Friday, Feb. 20.
Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said the suspect, identified only as Marlon, was arrested along Road 6, Pildera 2, Barangay 194, Pasay City.
Marlon, who was tagged as a high-profile fugitive for three counts of child abuse, was apprehended during a synchronized tracker operation conducted in Pasay City.
Operatives from the Southern Police District Mobile Force Battalion, in coordination with the District Special Operations Unit and the Warrant and Subpoena Sections (WSS) of the Makati and Pasay City Police, served the warrant of arrest against the suspect.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Jehan B. Sampao-Hassiman of the Pasay City Family Court, Branch 11. The court recommended bail of P200,000 for each count for violation of Article 336 (Acts of Lasciviousness) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Section 5(b) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
Marlon is currently detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility pending the return of the warrant to the issuing court.
“This successful operation highlights the effective coordination between our district units and city stations in tracking down individuals who exploit the vulnerable,” said Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo.
“The arrest of Makati’s fourth most wanted person sends a clear message that the SPD will utilize all available resources to ensure that perpetrators of child abuse are brought to justice, regardless of where they attempt to hide,” he added.
