CAVITE – A motorcycle store in Barangay Santiago, General Trias City, was reportedly robbed by seven minors, one of them only nine years old, on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A on Friday, Feb. 20, identified the children in conflict with the law (CICLs) as alias Jay, 16; alias Tahniel, 13; alias Chokoy, 11; alias Burnok, 12; alias Kalbo, 13; alias Junior, 9; and alias Yuri, 13.
The initial investigation stated that the complainant went to the store at 5:00 a.m. on the day of the crime and found all the drawers open and the keys scattered.
The store’s main gate was also open and its padlock had been forcibly broken. Upon further inspection, the complainant discovered that two motorcycles were missing from the store.
The General Trias Component City Police Station promptly conducted follow-up operations, and CCTV footage from nearby areas led to the identification of the suspects.
That evening, alias Jay and alias Tahniel were voluntarily surrendered by their parents at Barangay Santiago, along with the recovered motorcycles.
Further investigation revealed that the two CICLs who surrendered reportedly broke the padlock of the store’s main gate and took the two motorcycles while the others acted as lookouts.
Both CICLs were turned over to the social welfare and development office.
