Spanish DJ Hugo Capablanca to hold Artist Talk

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 6 p.m., the Intramuros branch of Instituto Cervantes will host a special artist talk with Hugo Capablanca, the acclaimed Spanish DJ, music producer, and visual artist currently based in Berlin.
The event serves as a prelude to the 10th edition of the UNKNWN Festival, offering audiences an intimate encounter with one of the most eclectic figures in contemporary electronic culture. Capablanca is widely regarded as one of Berlin’s most distinctive DJs and a central figure in the underground scene. He is also the founder of the cult record label Discos Capablanca, known for its adventurous and genre-defying releases.
In a relaxed and engaging conversation conducted in English, Capablanca will share insights into his creative journey, spanning his work as a DJ, his unique approach to music production, and his parallel explorations in the visual arts. With his boundary‑pushing style and international trajectory, the talk promises to inspire music lovers, creatives, and festival‑goers alike.
Following the talk, Capablanca will perform as one of the guest stars at the UNKNWN Festival, which will take place at the Jardines de Puerta Real.
This event is presented by the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, Instituto Cervantes de Manila, AECID Philippines, and the Intramuros Administration, in collaboration with the Goethe‑Institut Philippines. Admission to the artist talk is free, though seating is limited, so early arrival is recommended.
