Pro-Duterte coalition to hold March 11 motorcade marking 'political banishment' anniversary

A coalition of pro-Duterte groups is set to stage a motorcade on March 11 at Villamor Air Base to mark what it described as the first anniversary of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s supposed “political banishment” to The Hague.
In a statement on Friday, Feb. 20, the Philippine Alliance for National Accountability (PANA) and KAMPILAN claimed that March 11 marks one year since Duterte was “seized at Villamor Air Base and forcibly renditioned to The Hague,” an act they labeled as “state kidnapping.”
The groups alleged that the former president’s transfer was a calculated move to “silence a powerful voice of the masses” and bypass the Philippine justice system.
The coalition also framed the anniversary as part of a broader campaign against what it called “rampant, systemic corruption” in government, denouncing a “culture of greed” that it said has allowed billions in public funds to be siphoned away.
“This is a national reckoning. We refuse to be silent while our institutions cannibalize our public coffers,” the coalition said, as it called for a “total war on corruption” and the restoration of integrity in public service.
The motorcade is scheduled for 2 p.m. on March 11, with participants set to assemble along White Plains Avenue before proceeding to EDSA and ending at Villamor Air Base.
Organizers urged supporters to join what they described as a peaceful assembly.
“Let our engines roar as one to reclaim our dignity and demand an end to corruption,” the coalition said.
The statement listed several individuals and groups as signatories in solidarity with the planned activity, including former officials, lawyers, and Duterte-aligned organizations.
The planned event comes amid continuing developments in Duterte’s case before the International Criminal Court (ICC), where proceedings remain ongoing.

Meanwhile, organizers said the March 11 motorcade will also serve as a show of support for Vice President Sara Duterte, whom they described as the “People’s Choice for Reform.”
They characterized her potential candidacy in the 2028 elections as a “national cleansing” aimed at ensuring absolute accountability to the Republic.
They added that the Vice President offers “a future that is honest, secure, and fiercely protective of the Filipino nation.”
