It may only be February, but on cloudless afternoons, the air already hints at the warmth of the coming months. With summer slowly making its presence felt, now is the perfect time to rethink our wardrobes. Enter Uniqlo’s spring-summer 2026 collection, built around a clear and timely concept: “Ultimate Basic.”
Rooted in the evolving needs of modern consumers, “Ultimate Basic” reflects a growing demand for everyday wear that seamlessly marries style and function. For the upcoming season, the brand delivers a wide-ranging lineup designed to balance comfort and polish through vibrant colors, thoughtful patterns, relaxed silhouettes, and intelligent fabric choices.
“For this collection, we will continue to elevate the everyday essentials for the Filipinos. Customers can expect the collection to be both stylish and functional at the same time,” Uniqlo Philippines chief operating officer Geraldine Sia told Manila Bulletin Lifestyle during the launch held on Jan. 29, 2026 at Foro de Intramuros, Manila. “We have our ultimate basics like the premium linen lineup, jeans and denim, bra top, and UV protection, bringing Filipinos essentials that are summer-ready.”
Urban Rome style
This season, Uniqlo draws inspiration from the laidback yet refined energy of Rome. The result is a wardrobe that feels effortlessly put together. Think oversized blouses or shirts paired with shorts, a combination that transitions easily from city strolls to holiday escapes.
Rome’s modern architecture also informs the aesthetic, with clean lines and a crisp white palette anchoring many of the looks. The pieces feel light yet structured, relaxed yet intentional.
Inspired by Roman street style and modern architecture, the new collection blends relaxed silhouettes with crisp structure. Breathable fabrics, clean lines, and versatile essentials from Core T to denim, outerwear, and knits.
And yes, denim still has a place under the summer sun. For its spring-summer 2026 collection, Uniqlo reinforces the appeal of its jeans through three key qualities: style, comfort, and timelessness. From Baggy Jeans to EZY Jeans, each pair is built around the three Fs: fit, fabric, and finish. The result is denim that delivers flattering silhouettes for various body types while remaining breathable and easy to wear beyond the season.
Coastal mood
For those drawn to breezier, seaside dressing, the collection channels Amalfi Coast energy through lighter fabrics and brighter hues.
The Amalfi Coast area during the event in Intramuros represents Uniqlo’s summer line-up, showcasing the Linen, Bra Top, and Airsm innerwear and shirts featuring lighter fabrics and brighter colors suited to the seaside climate and mood.
Start with essentials such as the Ribbed Cropped Bra Top and Airism Bra Sleeveless Top for a streamlined base. For an easy yet refined ensemble, the Premium Linen Long Sleeve Shirt paired with Linen Blend Easy Pants offers maximum comfort and breathability. Airism innerwear options, including the Bra Camisole, Sleeveless Top, Crew Neck T-shirt, and Cotton Crew Neck T-shirt
UV protection with style
Summer style also means staying protected. Since the season invites more time outdoors, the brand highlights functional pieces that shield against harmful rays without sacrificing design.
The Ultra Stretch Airism UV Protection Full-zip Hoodie blocks ultraviolet rays while offering a cool-to-the-touch feel. Other options include the Dry-Ex UV Protection Full Zip Hoodie and the UV Protection Crew Neck Long Sleeve Cardigan, making sun safety part of the everyday outfit.

Sustainability in focus
Beyond seasonal dressing, Uniqlo continues to underscore its commitment to sustainability and social impact.
This season, the brand spotlights the Peace for All Charity T-shirt project, which supports peace-building efforts around the world. Since its launch in 2022, the initiative has raised over JPY 2,883,233,700, with more than nine million shirts sold globally. Proceeds benefit partner organizations UNHCR, Plan International, and Save the Children. Design collaborators include Roger Federer, Haruka Ayase, Peanuts, Keith Haring, and Christophe Lemaire, among others.
“We believe that purchasing one t-shirt has a powerful impact on people,” Geraldine said. “We provide assistance to our partner organizations for the initiatives they have for their communities.”
Uniqlo also advances circular fashion through Re.Uniqlo Studio, a service that promotes repairing and refreshing LifeWear items. From mending to embroidery customization, the studio gives garments renewed life and a personalized touch. This season introduces new patches in collaboration with Disney, available at the Uniqlo Manila Global Flagship Store, Uniqlo SM Mall of Asia, and Uniqlo BGC High Street.
With “Ultimate Basic,” Uniqlo makes a case for summer dressing that is thoughtful, versatile, and designed to last long after the season fades.
