Taguig LGU gets 255 TESDA toolkits
The Taguig City government received 255 toolkits for skills training and livelihood programs from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority–National Capital Region (TESDA-NCR).
Mayor Lani Cayetano and TESDA-NCR Regional Director Angelina Carreon signed a deed of donation and acceptance at the Taguig Manpower Training and Assessment Center (TMTC) in Barangay Lower Bicutan.
The donated toolkits were turned over to the TMTC and will be used to enhance Taguig’s community-based technical education programs and expand access to skills training for residents.
The toolkits include materials for solar night light and post lamp assembly, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, cake making, bread making, and pastry making.
“By entrusting these toolkits to the City of Taguig, we are not simply transferring equipment—we are transferring capacity, responsibility, and opportunity. This enables the LGU to expand community-based training programs, support grassroots livelihood initiatives, strengthen local enterprise development, and accelerate job creation at the city level," said Carreon.
Cayetano said, “To the City of Taguig, to our family—kahit na malaki na at malayo na ang narating natin, patuloy pa rin tayong lumalago (even though we've come a long way and are big, we're still growing) and striving for greater heights; and with every step forward, we continue to expand opportunities for our kababayan—because these programs are not just equipment, but symbols of hope, added skills, and real pathways toward more jobs, stronger livelihoods, and a brighter future for every Taguigeño family."
TMTC was recently recognized as the first LGU-run TESDA Training and Assessment Center in the city’s MUNTIPARLAS-TaPat District and the first Handloom Weaving Center in the NCR. It is authorized to issue national certificates to its trainees, further strengthening its role in providing quality, industry-recognized skills training.
Carreon also expressed confidence in the city’s leadership:
