​South Korea has eased its visa application restrictions for Filipino travelers.

According to the Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) in the Philippines, the agency that handles South Korean visa applications, some of the visa requirements will be revised effective Friday, Feb. 20, "to enhance convenience for visa applicants and promote visits to Korea."

First is the waiving of the submission of a three-month bank statement.

Then, for student applicants, the proof of student status requirement will be changed from "Original School Certificate and copy of Student ID" to "either the original School Certificate or a copy of the Student ID." Applicants may choose and submit one.

Meanwhile, for multiple applicants, common documents, such as invitation letters, family relationship documents, or company-related documents, must be submitted in one copy only and attached to the representative applicant's file.

And for employment-related documents, the submission of an explanation letter will be waived in cases where there is no landline number indicated, or when it is issued with an electronic signature.

"As long as other reachable contact information (email address or mobile phone number) is provided, the document will be accepted," KVAC said.
