DAVAO CITY – Over 200 people benefited from free healthcare services during the Pulong-Pulong ni Pulong Medical Mission in Barangay Bago Gallera here on Thursday, Feb. 19.
The activity was organized by Rep. Paolo Duterte and Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte II as part of continuing efforts to bring basic government services closer to communities with limited access to healthcare.
Volunteer doctors and medical personnel provided general consultations and eye examinations. Free medicines and prescription eyeglasses were distributed to patients.
The Dutertes said the medical mission seeks to ease the financial and logistical burden of residents who regularly struggle to access hospital and clinic services.
Beneficiaries received meals and water while awaiting consultations and medicines.
Residents and barangay officials thanked the Dutertes for the assistance.
Staff from Rep. Duterte’s office distributed relief assistance to around 40 families affected by a fire in Purok 7, Barangay 37-D, on Wednesday night.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-Davao City said the fire reached the second alarm before it was declared under control.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development continue profiling and validating affected residents to facilitate further assistance.
