A man was arrested after allegedly slitting another man's neck during a robbery hold-up in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City, Rizal on Sunday morning, Feb. 15.
The Antipolo City Component Police Station (Antipolo CCPS) said the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. while the victim was walking along Sitio Epheta B, the suspect, identified as “Elniño,” suddenly appeared while armed with a bladed weapon.
It said that the suspect then suddenly declared a hold-up and forcibly took the victim’s personal belongings.
Before fleeing, police said the suspect slit the nape of the victim’s neck, causing injury, and escaped with the stolen item.
Despite the injury, the victim reported the incident to the barangay and identified the suspect.
Authorities immediately conducted a follow-up operation, during which the suspect attempted to evade arrest by climbing onto the roofs of nearby houses but was eventually arrested.
However, the bladed weapon used by the suspect and the stolen item were not recovered during the arrest.
The suspect is now detained at the Antipolo Custodial Facility and is facing robbery charges.
