President Marcos joined Muslims in the Philippines and around the world in welcoming the Holy Month of Ramadan, urging them to deepen their faith and renew their commitment to mercy, justice, and service.
In a message dated Feb. 17, the President said he stands with Muslim communities as they begin a month of prayer and reflection.
“I join our Muslim brothers and sisters around the world as you enter the Holy Month of Ramadan,” he said.
Marcos said Ramadan is a time to open oneself “to the presence of Allah by cultivating discipline, humility, and compassion—drawing closer to the values of mercy, justice, and service that Ramadan calls forth.”
“Upon this dedication, we stand on sacred ground—a place of renewal—where spiritual growth bears fruit not only in our own lives, but also in the lives of those entrusted to our care,” he added.
The President also invoked the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), saying, “May your faith be deepened and your commitment be renewed to live out His teachings.”
“May your sacrifices, reflections, and encounters strengthen you to embody His boundless love for humanity, especially for the least among our brethren,” he said.
Marcos called on the faithful to use the sacred month to “reinvigorate your solidarity and rekindle your shared concern for one another,” adding that he stands with them in prayer and goodwill.
“I wish you a peaceful and holy observance of this blessed month,” the President said, ending his message with, “Ramadan Mubarak!”
Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection, commemorating the revelation of the Holy Qur’an.
