The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is accelerating the Road Network Development Project in Conflict-Affected Areas in Mindanao (RNDP-CAAM) to link remote communities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to new opportunities and lasting peace.
Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain said the project reflects the government’s commitment to improving mobility, inclusive growth, and stability in historically underserved areas.
Managed by DPWH’s Unified Project Management Office – Roads Management Cluster I (UPMO-RMC I), the RNDP-CAAM covers 80.97 kilometers, including the Parang–Balabagan Road in Maguindanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur with 16 bridges and one underpass.
It also includes the 7.07-kilometer Parang East Diversion Road with four bridges, which has reached over 15 percent completion.
The project further covers the 17.42-kilometer Manuangan–Parang Road connecting AH26 to the Davao–Cotabato Road, featuring two major bridges.
Funded by a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the RNDP-CAAM aims to improve road connectivity in BARMM and expand opportunities for economic growth.
Close coordination among implementing agencies, local government units, and security forces ensures smooth execution of ongoing contracts.
Officials said the RNDP-CAAM goes beyond road construction, serving as a catalyst for social cohesion, economic empowerment, and lasting stability in Mindanao.
