Ateneo de Manila University captured the 2025–2026 Play Golf Interschool Golf Championship title after outlasting La Salle Zobel School, 3–2, in the Finals on Feb. 15 at Royal Northwoods Golf Club.
Led by team captains Jong Castañeda and Marty Ilagan, Ateneo stayed composed in a tight match play battle. La Salle Zobel struck first in Singles, as TJ Padilla defeated Luis Espinosa, 5&3, and Rafael Leonio beat James Carlos, 6&4, to grab the early edge.
But Ateneo flipped the match in the team format.
Raj Crisostomo and Milo Pastor delivered a key 4&2 win in Best Ball. Iñigo Gallardo and Lujo Gomez followed with a solid 6&4 victory in High-Low. The clincher came from Juanton Cruz and Race Manhit, who dominated the Aggregate match, 7&6, to seal the 3–2 triumph.
It was a complete campaign for Ateneo, showing depth and steady execution from Stroke Play to Match Play.
The championship squad was composed of Carlos, Crisostomo Cruz, Xandrei David, Espinosa, Gallardo, Ty Go, Gomez, Manhit, Pastor, and Aenzo Sulaik. The reserve team included EC Aguirre, Rupert Cariño, Matteo Dela Cruz, Marco Iglesia, and Datu Villamor, all guided by coaches Castañeda and Ilagan.
From the opening Strokeplay rounds to the final putts at Royal Northwoods, the tournament once again showcased top-level play and rising junior golf talents, with Ateneo finishing on top.
