The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has rolled out its security and traffic management plan ahead of the “Trillion Peso March” set on Feb. 25 at the EDSA People Power Monument, marking the 40th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution.
Authorities said preparations include strategic deployment along major roads, particularly areas surrounding the monument, as well as coordination with local government offices and event organizers to ensure smooth program flow and crowd management.
“Our primary objective is to uphold public safety while respecting the citizens’ right to peacefully assemble and express their sentiments during the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA Revolution. The QCPD will implement comprehensive security measures and effective traffic management to minimize disruption and ensure a safe environment for everyone,” QCPD director PBGEN Randy Glenn Silvio said.
Coordination meetings with concerned government agencies, local government units, and event organizers are being held continuously to ensure the peaceful, orderly, and secure conduct of all related activities.
Motorists are advised to expect possible traffic rerouting on EDSA and nearby thoroughfares on the day of the march.
Authorities said traffic advisories and road adjustments will be announced ahead of time to help the public plan their trips accordingly.
