CEBU CITY – More than P5-million worth of illegal drugs and several firearms were seized in a series of police operations that ended on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, in Central Visayas.
The Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) reported that from Feb. 8 to 14, 769.27 grams of shabu worth P5,231,036 were recovered and 196 drug suspects were arrested. Six of the arrested suspects were considered as high-value individuals, the PRO-7 said.
The week-long operation also led to the arrest of 128 wanted persons, 12 of them listed as most wanted persons.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 73 persons were arrested while P11,660 in bet money was confiscated.
In the campaign against loose firearms, the PRO-7 said that 35 unlicensed guns were confiscated while 25 persons were arrested.
