Thank you, Asintada, Ms. Thea, in trust. We're happy and excited to put out their new song)," Kathleen said during the event.
Marking a new milestone in their music career, King and Emcee expressed their gratitude to UR for entrusting them to be part of their roster of artists.
"I just wanna say thank you sa lahat ng pumunta rito right now, and thank you rin po Universal [Records Philippines] for giving us another chance to put out good music out there; and yes, sobrang excited po naming ilabas 'yung mga nakatago po naming mga kanta, (I just want to say thank you to everyone who came here right now, and thank you also to Universal [Records Philippines] for giving us another chance to put out good music out there; and yes, we are so excited to release our songs)'' said King Badger.
In a one-on-one interview with King Badger and Emcee, the two mentioned that saying yes to Universal was a spur-of-the-moment decision since they've been doing unreleased songs for quite some time.
"Actually ginawa namin siya na wala pa sa plan namin to sign with Universal. We just have so many songs together, ang dami namin kanta na ginagawa na hindi namin nirerelease, tapos dumating yung ganitong pagkakataon na magput up kami ng songs, so magagamit na namin yung mga nagawa namin (We actually made it without even planning to sign with Universal. We have so many songs together, we've been working on songs that we haven't released, and then this opportunity came along to put up songs, so we can use what we've done),'' King and Emcee shared.
Serving as both singers and songwriters, the duo shared that they have experienced significant changes in themselves when it comes to writing songs.
"Yes nagbago siya in way na maramin magdadagdag sa vocabulary mo as a rapper, habang binagbagtas mo yung daan. Kasi maraming bagong nadating, marami ka ring naririnig, may mga makukuha ko na pwede mo gamitin sa lyrics (Yes, it changed in a way that will add a lot to your vocabulary as a rapper, you continue this career. Because there is a lot of new music, you also hear a lot, and I can get some that you can use in the lyrics," Emcee shared.
"Marami din kasi words na in ngayon, unconsciously nagagamit namin siya sa mga kanta namin (There are so many words commonly used today that we end up incorporating them into our songs without even realizing it), King Badger added.
Beginning their journey as a duo, Emcee and King Badger give a hint of their new music.
"Sa ngayon may ginagawa kami na marami, tapos may mga part na matutulungan kami ng UR [Universal Records Philippines] na sila ang mag-handle ng mga bagay na 'yon at mag-asikaso no'n. Mas marami kaming time na magbigay ng oras sa ginagawa namin sa music. Abangan na lang po nila 'yung mga ire-release namin (Right now, we’re juggling a lot of responsibilities, and there are certain areas where UR [Universal Records Philippines] can step in to support us. They’ll handle those aspects and take care of everything on that end, which gives us more time to focus on our music. Just stay tuned for the official release of what we’ve been working on)," Emcee said.
"Marami na siya, halo-halo siya, melodic tapos rap. So ngayon, mas maluwag ngayon 'yung space namin para sa isang kanta kasi dalawa lang kami. Mas na-explore namin siya, pero abangan na lang (It brings a lot to the table—blending melody and rap effortlessly. Now that there are only two of us, there’s more room in each song to really breathe and develop our parts. We’ve been able to explore his style even more, so wait and see what’s coming)," King said.
