Man critical after being shot by drunk suspect in Rizal
A 39-year-old security guard is in critical condition after another man shot him multiple times following a heated argument between the two in Barangay Sto. Niño, Cainta, Rizal, on Saturday, Feb. 14.
The Cainta Municipal Police identified the victim as "Jeno," a resident of Sunrise Executive Subdivision in the said barangay.
Based on the initial police investigation, Jeno was on his way home when the intoxicated suspect, identified as "Joel," intercepted him without reason.
The two subsequently engaged in a verbal confrontation in which the suspect suddenly pulled out a .38 caliber revolver and shot the victim in multiple parts of his body.
Joel immediately escaped from the scene after the shooting.
Authorities were able to rush Jeno to the Cainta Municipal Hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries for his wounds. He remains at the hospital for additional medical treatment.
Meanwhile, a manhunt operation was launched against Joel, which led to his arrest. He will be charged with frustrated murder.
