Authorities are currently investigating a dismembered body found inside a black trash bag and stuffed inside a drum in Binondo, Manila, on Sunday, Feb. 15.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said two men riding a white Mitsubishi L300 van stopped on top of Mel Lopez Bridge and instructed two scavengers they found to dispose of a Scotch tape-sealed blue drum.
After receiving the van-riding men's payment, the scavengers loaded the drum on their cart before proceeding to Delpan Sports Complex in Barangay 275 to check on its contents.
Upon opening the drum, the men found an open trash bag containing chopped body parts of a man, prompting them to quickly report the discovery to the police.
The MPD said the cadaver was brought to the morgue for autopsy.
The police are still determining the victim's identity as well as the identities of the suspects.
