Muntinlupa residents affected by Maynilad's water service interruptions
Households in different areas in Muntinlupa are without water supply after Maynilad announced about “variable raw water quality” from Laguna Lake.
“Some areas of Brgys. Alabang, Bayanan, Poblacion, Putatan and Tunasan, Muntinlupa City may experience low to no water supply starting February 15, 2026 at 1:00 pm until February 16, 2026 at 3:00 am due to variable raw water quality during the Amihan season, caused by strong winds over Laguna Lake. We are managing limited supply and will restore service as soon as conditions improve,” Maynilad told its customers in Muntinlupa via a text message on Feb. 15.
The water service interruptions have angered customers
“Mapa summer tag ulan at amihan my water interruption (Whether it’s summer, rainy season and northeast monsoon, there is always water interruption),” a netizen posted on Maynilad’s water service advisory for Muntinlupa and Paranaque.
Maynilad has three water treatment plants in Muntinlupa, which all source raw water from the Laguna Lake. These are the Putatan Water Treatment Plant 1, Putatan Water Treatment Plant 2 and the Poblacion Water Treatment Plant.
As response to Maynilad’s water service interruptions, the Muntinlupa City government deployed water tanker trucks to affected communities.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon ordered the deployment of four water trucks to provide free water to different barangays.
The city government has contacted Maynilad about the situation.
