DILG: 17 NCR LGUs achieve high anti-illegal drug performance rating

All of the 17 Metro Manila local government units (LGUs) have “high functional” adjectival rating in the 2025 Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Audit, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said.
In a statement, the DILG explained that the ADAC audit is an annual assessment conducted by the DILG to monitor the compliance of LGUs with existing laws and policies regarding the fight against illegal drugs.
“It aims to recognize exemplary performance and identify areas for capacity development,’’ the DILG noted.
Further, the DILG said that the audit, which evaluated performance for the year 2024, measures the effectiveness of local ADACs in implementing anti-drug strategies, sustaining drug-cleared statuses, and fostering community-based rehabilitation.
The DILG stressed that it acts as more than just an auditor, but a partner in governance, ensuring that every Metro Manila LGU has the tools, training and technical support needed to move from compliance to excellence.
Earlier, the DILG conducted an annual audit of 1,716 local Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) to evaluate how well they are tackling the drug problem in their communities.
The DILG said the goal is to check how effective these councils are, and to identify innovative programs and successful strategies in the fight against illegal drugs.
