Stars On The Floor 2: Alden, Rayver, and Coach Jay unleash dance moves
It is never too late to start learning to dance. All you need is passion, courage, and a willingness to try.
This was the advice given by Alden Richards, Rayver Cruz, and Coach Jay Roncesvalles (SB19's choreographer) when they were asked for tips on dancing during the media conference for the reality show Stars on the Floor Season 2, which will air on GMA Network beginning Feb. 15.
Rayver, one of the judges, said, "You must work hard. I believe that anyone can learn to dance with enough commitment. Some people may have natural talent, but hard work and perseverance are most important."
"Even we need to keep practicing. There may be times when you wonder why others learn more quickly. Just continue dancing. Starting something new is already an achievement. Do what makes you happy," Rayver added.
Coach Jay, another judge, shared that some people did not believe he could dance when he was younger. However, he continued despite the criticism.
"I do not believe in the idea that some people cannot dance. Everyone starts as a beginner. I knew nothing about dancing at first, but because I wanted to learn, I found a way, even without formal instruction.
"I was very shy, so I practiced dancing alone in my room. Some told me that my movements were too stiff, which was discouraging. However, because I wanted to dance, I did not let this stop me. The most important thing is to begin, even if it is difficult at first.
"People will recognize your skill once you are able to dance well. You need to go through trial and error until you improve," said Coach Jay.
Alden, the program's host, expressed his satisfaction with dancing.
"Dancing gives me a unique sense of satisfaction. It allows me to express a different side of myself. It is fulfilling to create choreography with talented dancers and to hear that I performed well after a show.
"People appreciate your efforts when you dance. Sometimes, I encourage my family to dance with me, which creates meaningful memories. Dancing is not only for performances; it adds enjoyment to everyday life. Whether alone or with others, dancing can be a memorable experience," Alden said.
Alden, Rayver, and Coach Jay shared what excites them about the return of the reality dance show.
"In Season 1, we introduced a collaboration between two worlds: the celebrity and social media worlds. We are now working to elevate it by collaborating with our celebrity dance stars and P-pop idols.
"The fan base of P-pop idols in the Philippines continues to grow. This is one way we are raising the standards for Season 2," said Alden.
Rayver said he was thrilled when his brother Rodjun Cruz and Dasuri Choi were proclaimed champions in Season 1.
"I look forward to seeing the dancing skills of the contestants. I enjoyed Season 1. It has always been my goal to join a reality dance show. Dancing was my first passion. My brother Rodjun participated and became the champion."
Coach Jay said he is excited to see the P-pop group members dance.
"I am interested to see the P-pop group members perform. They are dedicated to dancing. It will be interesting to watch them collaborate with others and show different skills. We will see something new this season," he said.
Alden said he is proud of the show "Stars on the Floor" because it is an original concept from GMA Network.
"We studied various shows from around the world and combined their best elements to create this concept for the Filipino audience. You can expect impressive dance performances and new surprises in every episode. We are committed to delivering quality content," Alden added.
