SC holds photography contest for its 125th anniversary on June 11
A photography contest is being conducted by the Supreme Court (SC) in celebration of its 125th anniversary on June 11.
With the theme “Accessible and Inclusive Justice,” the SC said the contest is open to professional and amateur photographers, students, hobbyists, and aspiring visual storytellers.
It said that contestant are encouraged “to capture powerful images that reflect the Filipino people’s daily pursuit of fairness, equality, and inclusion.”
It added that from portraits and street scenes to symbolic moments of struggle, hope, and resilience, “the competition seeks photographs that show what justice looks like in everyday life.”
The SC said there are three categories in the contest – single photo, photo essay, and long-term project.
For the single photo category, the SC said each entry must consist of one photograph taken on or after Jan. 1, 2012. A contestant may submit up to five entries.
Prizes are P125,000 for grand prize; P75,000, second prize; P50,000, third prize; and P10,000 each for seven special mention winners.
For the photo essay category, the SC said that entries must include eight to 12 photographs which were taken on or before Jan. 1, 2012 and at least two taken in 2026. Contestants may submit up to two entries.
Prizes are P125,000, grand prize; P75,000, second prize; P50,000, third prize; and P10,000 for each of the seven special mention winners.
For long-term project category, every entry must consist of 12 to 20 photographs taken over a period of more than one year with no time restriction on when the photographs may have been taken. A contestant may submit only one entry.
Prizes are P200,000 grand prize; P125,000 second prize; and P100,000 third prize.
The SC said the deadline for the submission of entries is on March 31, 2026.
It said that all entries must be submitted through the Philippine Judiciary Platform (PJP) – https://portal.judiciary.gov.ph/Login.
It also said that contestants must first create an account and log in before uploading their photos.
